This lesson was mostly spent finishing off the split pin we had started, and making a triangular tapered sharp pointy tool - to introduce us to filing steel and then tempering and polishing.
Although the pointy tool isn't perfect, it's very sharp, and I'm sure you'll agree that the spectrum (caused by heating the metal to the correct temperature to finish it) is pleasing...
We had a go at grinding the ends of the tools, and today we will start making punches! At last!
