Ouroboros

I have recently discovered that the image of a serpent eating its own tail is called an Ouroboros... It represents the cycle of life.

The two above paintings are now in my Etsy shop as mini prints, ACEO size, which is my current favourite size to work on.

Why two? I like variety. I actually painted the image in purple and turquoise, but it didn't look quite right. I adjusted the colours digitally to achieve something much more similar to the medieval manuscripts from which it was inspired, and of course if you do something in purple, you should also try it in green...
