Oh dear, if only it had all gone smoothly since my last post! First of all the eyes began to shatter - I must have overheated them when I took them out of the setter's wax...
I thought glass was supposed to withstand some heat :-(
Anyway - I had to break them out, and I set new ones in. This time - without setter's wax - just on my bench peg, so of course the pin setting broke.
I obviously need to rethink this one.
Meanwhile I have resolved to sticking on a ready made copper plated brooch pin, with Araldite. It looks OK - but will it be strong enough?
Hmmm.....
