Encouraged by my kiln glass experiment, I decided to go and find some more glass and pottery shards. I had the beach to myself for a whole hour before families with excited kids and their collection pots descended on *my* patch :-)
One does get a bit territorial when mudlarking.
I found some nice pieces, my favourites pictured below. I also have another batch of Thames glass cabochons in the kiln, and can't wait to see what they will come out like.

I thought this was a secret vial, until a nice man
with a metal detector explained that it was an old fuse... |
I have no idea what this is - it appears man made. This is one side |
And this is the other side. It seems to be made of glass, or perhaps bone? |
A nice glass button |
I love marbled clay. This small lump was just waiting for me to find it... |
I found lots of bird parts.... shame there were no whole ones |
A building, some acorns, my very first find with gold lustre,
a grand peacock feather and at the bottom, my favourite pattern |
Some fine patterns, my favourite is the flower at the bottom |
two pieces with writing (very rare!) and some 'seaweed pattern'
and a piece with a quatrefoil style pattern |
such treasures!! congrats on these finds!
ReplyDeleteTania, I love all of your finds. Oh how I sometimes wish I was closer to you so I could go treasure hunting with you just one time, it would be a blast!
