Exquisite Bodies exhibition at the Wellcome Collection

On Saturday, we went to see the Exquisite Bodies exhibition. I have never been in the gallery before, and it is a great place! The actual exhibition was mainly vintage wax sculptues used to teach anatomy - some very gruesome ones as well (diseased body parts for instance).

It is a temporary exhibition, but upstairs is a permanent collection of medical related curiosities - everything from chastitly belts to a shrunken head... fascninating! Just up my street. We also went on a tour of the 'Medicine Now' space, which was quite interesting. And all for free! London can be great sometimes!
There is quite a nice cafe there, and a bookshop covering medical and related subjects - I heartily recommend a visit if you are in London.

Here is the link to the Wellcome Collection website.

If you have about 10 minutes to spare - you can see how anatomical wax models are made today by Eleanor Crook.
