Kreativ Blogger Award

I had a lovely surprise the other day when my blog was chosen by Therese of Therese's Treasures to receive the Kreativ Blogger Award. Thanks so much, I feel honoured! Therese makes beautiful beaded jewellery, the kind which I always admire, but don't know how to make myself.

So the rules are that I have to link back to the person who awarded me, pass this award on to 10 other blogs that I enjoy reading, and also reveal 7 facts about myself. Since it's very late at night, I may well reveal too much!
  1. I am fluent in both English and... Hebrew
  2. I absolutely love learning new skills. At the moment they are mostly jewellery related
  3. I'm not a huge fan of any meat, but I can cook chicken in a gazillion ways
  4. I love words and word games
  5. I'm a fan of redheads
  6. I think I would like to live in the Orkney Islands, even though I've never been there
  7. If I don't comment on your blog it doesn't mean I didn't read it, I just got a bit shy...
I hope that wasn't too much :-)

Ok, so some deserving blogs... I thought this would be the easy bit, but it's actually very hard to choose. So, in no particular order:

Besty Bensen - A jeweller from Oregon, US. I love her jewellery - classic but quirky. Simple, elegant and beautifully made. I love the images she takes as well, her photographs are works of art in their own right.

Gemheaven - Jo is a jeweller who lives near the Cornish coast, UK. I envy that quite a bit :-)
She makes stunning jewellery with gemstones, and I love checking every few days to see what new lovelies she has come up with.

Julie Whitemore - Beautiful pottery that reminds me of illustrations in the children's books I collect. I think she lives in a beautiful part of the world, and I love looking at the photographs of all the things that inspire her.

Orange You Lucky - Helen Dardik is an illustrator and designer. She makes patterns and prints. Again I admit to a little bit of envy here - how can one person create so many gorgeous things. I have no favourites, I love everything she does.

What is a duck worth? - Michelle is also an illustrator, who lives in Memphis. I really love her style of work, and my favourites are the illustrations on wood panels. I intend to buy one one day.

Folk Art Papercuts - Suzy is an artist living in Hertfordshre, UK, and she makes beautiful paper cuts.
OK, she is also my best friend, but sometimes we don't see each other for weeks, so we keep in touch via blogging. Every time I look at her blog she is making something new and amazing! Hi Suzy :-)

Charlotte Bezzant - A jeweller who lives in London. I love her jewellery - clean lines, cool, elegant! I especially love the combination of silver and aquamarines. It's always nice to read about the experiences of a fellow Londoner.

Mudlarking - How could I not love this blog! I really look forward to new posts, and have definitely learned a lot about some of the pottery shards I have found. I met Julia once by chance on the Thames foreshore, and I'm sure we will bump into each other again.

Lora Hart Jewels - Metal clay artist and tutor, I have followed her work for a long time now, and especially love her fragments series. I look forward to seeing her weekend 'eye candy' collections.

Fired With Imagination - Joy Funnell is a metal clay artist and instructor. I love watching out for her new creations, and especially love anything with enamel on! I hope to meet her one day.

Go explore those blogs!
I hope I will have introduced some of you to new visual delights!
Also - thanks to all of you who are interested in my work and leave lovely comments.
It always makes my day!

  3. Oh my! So now I will have to make sure I get posting, so people have something to look at when they check my blog! It's always interesting to dip into other peoples blog lists, as they often turn up interesting gems (and not just the jewellery kind). Keep blogging - love looking at your treasures - both found and made. x
